We’re headed to the game, too, but with a stop to see our 9-month-old granddaughter, too. It doesn’t get much better than that! Thankfully, we only bleed purple around here, so unless the unthinkable happens, it will be a happy time! I love the caramel apple cupcake idea. So cute! I made a version of your Almond Joy Bars this week (I did a scratch blondie recipe instead of cake mix, but I used the idea, plus the coconut and the Almond Joy bites.) They were a hit with the guys! Thanks! I REALLY hope you enjoy the game. Kim recently posted..Marketing Proposal
Kim–so glad you liked the Almond Joy bars–yours sound great with the from scratch blondie recipe. Now you’ve got me thinking I need to make those again. 🙂 Have a great time at the game, and enjoy seeing your granddaughter! GO CATS!
That is some beautiful photography. These look absolutely delicious! What a lovely fall treat. Jen @ Savory Simple recently posted..Should I Go To Culinary School?
Thanks for the nice photography compliment, Jen. I really struggle with my photography, so I appreciate your kind words. These cupcakes were pretty tasty, and fun to make, too. =)
I haven’t eaten many caramel apples either, for the same reason. After making/eating them with a (then) 4-year old, it will probably be a long time before I do it again! =) These were much easier.
Oh my gosh, Ashley! These are so insanely cute and look AMAZING. Caramel apples, mmm. And in cupcake form–so cute! Hayley @ The Domestic Rebel recently posted..The Friday Roundup & Halloween Week Party!

These are totally gorgeous! LOVE the idea of the cupcake vs. the apple. I hate the mess it creates. And, it comes on a stick…but you have to cut it to eat it. I never understood that about caramel apples! Dorothy @ Crazy for Crust recently posted..Whatever Friday {And a Halloween Link Party!}
Hi Gina! I’m kind of weird about my baked goods containing fruit–I usually refrigerate them. But, I also know a lot of people who say it’s just fine to leave something like this at room temp. So I think you’d be fine either way. =)
i’ve never made homemade caramel apples from scratch- and yes, they seem like quite the mess and pain in the butt! These are adorable – saving time, money, and a huge MESS!!! sally @ sallys baking addiction recently posted..candy corn pretzel hugs.

Would you believe I’ve never had a caramel apple in my life? I don’t like messy stuff, so I always shy away from them, ha! I bet i’d like these much better. =)

What do you do with the buttermilk…?
The buttermilk goes in with the cake mix, oil, and eggs. I’ve corrected it in the printable recipe–thanks so much for spotting that!
These look amazing! Do leftover cupcakes need to be refridgerated or are they fine left on the counter in an airtight container?
