Homemade Baking Mix
Serves: makes 6 cups
  • 5 cups flour
  • ¼ cup baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (16 tablespoons) butter or margarine
  1. Combine flour, baking powder, sugar and salt in a large bowl. Cut in butter until mixture is crumbly.
  2. Refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 6 weeks. You may freeze it for longer storage.
To make Biscuits:
  1. Mix together ⅓ cup of milk for every 1 cup of mix. Drop onto ungreased cookie sheets and bake at 450 degrees for 10-12 min.
  2. 1 cup of mix will yield about 6 biscuits.
