Sweetened condensed milk isn’t something I use often in recipes, but if I do – homemade is always best.  I hope you enjoy this version as much as I do.

You might be surprised how easy homemade sweetened condensed milk is to make.  You only need four ingredients: milk, sugar, vanilla and butter (okay, and some water) – and a blender.  This is really just a dump and go recipe – and it makes just enough to replace a standard size can (14 ounces).

After you’ve made it, store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week or use right away in your recipe as called for.  It should also freeze well, up to three months.  To thaw, place in refrigerator overnight and then whisk until smooth.

Hello There!

Interestingly enough, I didn’t grow up with an interest in cooking.  In fact, I informed my mother on multiple occasions that I was not getting an advanced education so I could spend my evenings preparing meals.
