Nutella-Dipped Grahams

Nutella-Dipped Grahams

So…we started first grade yesterday.

These Nutella Grahams come together in less than a minute and provide a dose of folate and Vitamin E thanks to the addition of wheat germ!

I say “we” because Doodle still allows me to walk him into the classroom, help him organize all of his new supplies and place the appropriate items in his cubby, and give him hugs and kissies in front of his friends.

Plus, since I’m one of “those moms” and insist on being involved in everything, I usually sign up to help with all of the class parties, baking projects and field trips.  These moments pass by so quickly, and I don’t want to miss a thing.

Even though by mid-October, I’ll probably be kicking myself for agreeing to take so much on. ๐Ÿ™‚

In the meantime, I’m making things easy on myself with these super simple after-school snacks.  I don’t know that these Nutella Grahams really warrant a “recipe,” but if you’re like me and always struggle to find simple, fast, and (semi-) healthy after-school snacks for your kiddos, you might want to add this one to your list.

Really, you can’t go wrong with graham crackers and Nutella, can you?  Add a little bit of flax or wheat germ to up the nutritional content on these bad boys.  If you want to reduce the sugar, you may substitute peanut butter or almond butter for the Nutella.

Now, Doodle is pretty inquisitive and is unlikely to eat something called “flax seed” or “wheat germ,” so I got around that by partially covering those crumbs in sprinkles.  That kid will eat anything if it’s covered in sprinkles.

But really, who wouldn’t? ๐Ÿ˜‰
