Why You Should Keep a Freezer Inventory List
There are a number of reasons why you should keep a freezer inventory list. Seems logical, but the number one reason I use one is so I know what in the heck is in there. Oh, and also? It saves me MONEY.
Pin it NOW to save it for later!
Anyone out there but me have a deep freezer at home?
Anyone out there but me lose their frozen goods into the abyss once they place something inside? I don’t know what it is, but we seem to have a terrible time remembering what all we have stored in our deep freeze. Perhaps it is because ours is in the basement storage room (out of sight, out of mind), but we often find all sorts of things in there that are way past their prime. 😳 Oops?
That’s why I super ❤️ love having a Freezer Inventory List to help keep things organized and on track. This super simple sheet comes in handy for so many reasons:
- just like it’s counter-part, the pantry inventory list, knowing what you have on hand makes it so much easier to meal plan. I’m all about the meal planning, fo’ sure.
- it is a great money saver – if done right and you have adequate storage, you can stock up on meats and produce during sales, so that you are always eating at the best prices. BAM.
- it helps ensure you are eating the most nutritious foods available. Freezing foods during their harvest time means you can eat it during its peak of freshness later. So, stock up on those strawberries from April through June, and you can enjoy them all winter long!
Where should I put this list?
Do what works best for your family. As I stated earlier, our freezer is in our basement storage room, so I taped ours right on the outside of the door – it’s easy to see at a glance, and since no one ever goes in that room but us I don’t really mind having it out in the open.
BUT, if you don’t want to keep on the outside (or inside) of your freezer door, at least keep it somewhere close so it is easily accessible. I suggest laminating your freezer inventory list or placing it inside of a page protector sheet so you can write on it with a dry erase marker. That way you can modify it quickly as your freezer items change, without having to print out a new list (save some trees, ya’ll!).
10 EASY SLOW COOKER MEALS RECIPE BOOK
Hello There!
Interestingly enough, I didn’t grow up with an interest in cooking. In fact, I informed my mother on multiple occasions that I was not getting an advanced education so I could spend my evenings preparing meals.
